The Last Day of School

Finally, in June it was the last day of school.  No pomp and no circumstance.  No field days, field trips or end-of-the-year fun with friends for them.  But for the past three months, these two have been each other’s classmates, competitors,  cheerleaders and constant companions.  It wasn’t easy and the there were many days when the scales tipped from sweet to bitter.  But they did it.  And they are a 3rd and 6th grader with a friendship like no other. And two very proud parents.
