Christmas Culture

Reed looks forward to playing Christmas carols on his guitar all year long and Willa looks out at the Festival of Trees at the Everson Museum. 

Springerle Season

These antique cookie molds are family heirlooms, immigrating with Willa and Reed’s father’s family from Germany over a hundred years ago.  The recipe is written in their great-grandmother’s hand-writing on looseleaf paper.  Every December, Reed, Willa and their parents make the dough, press the anisette cookies, dry and bake them.  It takes three days to create a batch of these cookies.  A batch that takes three days but was over a century in the making.

Chorus Christmas Concert

Reed performed with the 5th and 6th grade chorus for a holiday concert in mid-December.  They sang beautifully and Reed looked so handsome in his holiday shirt and tie! 

Oh Christmas Tree

Reed, Willa and their parents headed up to Goodman’s tree farm in late November for their Christmas tree. This day is always one of our favorite days of the year and while there was more sun than snow, we certainly all got in the spirit of the season! 

Sky Zoning

Willa and a few of her dear friends from Rockwell were able to have a mini-reunion with another good friend who recently moved.  They spent hours bouncing and giggling at Sky Zone and it is so delightful to watch these sweet friendships grow.  Reed and his best friend also jumped along and then we all enjoyed a celebration taco lunch together! 

Farm Photo Day

Reed and Willa also posed for some portrait photos taken by their mom and her camera at home on the farm.
