Post-berry bliss. Raspberry picking done. Three quarts to go home and just a few in Reed and Willa’s bellies.

Framed
Willa was framed (with fake glasses) and caught finishing her summer packet for school. It may be still summer still but this little scholar certainly isn’t dreading second grade in the fall
The Greatest Lake
Reed, Willa and their parents took their annual trip to the Port City on a cloudy July afternoon. We walked along the river, crossed a train bridge, waded into the lake and enjoy dinner at Rudy’s! Reed was even chased by an assertive French-fry-loving seagull there (sorry, no photo evidence of that one)!
The Gap
Reed began playing the guitar two years ago and practices often. Despite daily use, he finally snapped his first string on his beloved guitar when he was strumming a few days ago. He described it as the feeling when a baby tooth falls out and suddenly there's an unfamilar gap in a very familiar place. Despite the missing B string, he continued to play the guitar until it was restrung, keeping that broken string as a mama would keep that first lost baby tooth retrieved from unearth a pillow.
It’s Not “Goodbye”...
...but it’s “see you later” to our good friends, the Koguts. Reed and Willa’s mom and Cameron and Colby’s mom met while in graduate school and have enjoyed along friendship, sharing our lives’ milestones: student teaching, getting jobs, weddings, showers and babies. Our first boys are nearly the same age and Reed counts Cameron as his oldest friend. Willa and Colby are two peas in a pod. This wonderful family is starting a new chapter in their life as the move to Virginia but they will always hold a special place in our hearts.
