The First Snow...

...Of the season for Reed and the first snow of her lifetime for Willa was experienced last weekend. Being the committed farmer he is, Reed did not let a little dusting of snow stop him from working the "fields" with his tractors. Willa was intrigued by the very cold, transient newness of snow. She also spent some time trying to remover her hood (see the final photos of this post). Oh, and Reed and Willa's mommy learned exactly why preschool classes do not go outside to play in the snow very often. Despite complete cooperation from both Reed and Willa, we spent 35 minutes getting dressed to play outside for 25 minutes to then spend another 15 minutes getting undressed in the mud room and then making hot chocolate. Lots of time spent, but none of it wasted... we are looking forward to many adventures in the snow this coming winter!

Ithaca Farmer's Market

Yesterday, our family took a road trip to Ithaca to go to the Farmers' Market and the Sciencecenter, one of Reed's favorite destinations. We had a great time at the market, despite the blustery wind, and the Sciencecenter never fails to entertain us!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Reed and Willa celebrated the holiday with their parents, both sets of grandparents, Aunt Kathy and Little Grandma! We have so very much to be thankful for this year, including family and friends near and far! Happy Thanksgiving!

Future Farmers of America...

Reed has been taking a lot of pride recently in being a true helper on the farm. He is interested in many aspects of it, but he has a particular fondness and aptitude for anything involving tractors!

Sun-Day!

Last Sunday, we enjoyed a true "Sun"-day playing outside!

Batter Up!

Reed and his mommy baked a chocolate-pumpkin bundt cake a few days ago. Needless to say, it is gone now. Fortunately, Reed got a head start by licking the beaters after we mixed the ingredients. Next time, we will plan to double the recipe!

Soaking Up the Sun...

...Willa and Reed enjoyed a few beautiful, warm, late-fall afternoons outside last week. Our whole family has been fighting colds and other illnesses and the sunshine and fresh air was healing for our bodies and spirits! We are all seemingly on the path to wellness again and we look forward to a healthy holiday season!
