Snow Day Security

Pajamas inside out and pencils in the freezer.  Willa and Reed take no chances when they are pulling for a snow day and it worked a couple weeks ago!

On and Off the Ice

Recently Reed was invited to watch Miller, his best friend, play hockey at the OnCenter in a special game. Reed was thrilled to cheer his friend on and even happier after the game to get to explore the arena with his best friend!

Ithaca is Gorges

And so is the boy, who is now so big that he can wear the shirt his mama wore in college. And it fits him well ❤️

Indoor Gardening

During the winter, our indoor plants help to remind us of the importance of greenery and how the feel of dirt on our hands grounds us no matter the season.

Team Picture Day

Reed and Willa were both part of the OCS youth basketball program this year. It was Reed’s fourth year and Willa’s official first year, although because their parents have coached the past 3 year she’s been playing for a while. Presenting the team photos of the 3rd-4th Grade Team and the K-2nd Little Dribblers!

Our Citizen of the Week

Willa was awarded the very special honor of being named Rockwell Elementary’s Citizen of the Week a few weeks ago in January. It was a great surprise for her and her very proud big brother, nana and parents were in the audience to share this proud moment.  Willa was recognized for her work ethic, spirit, kindness and consideration.  She lead the school in the Pledge of Allegiance and rang the special Rockwell Elementary bell to lead off Friday Morning Program. We could not be more proud of our favorite  ittle OCS Tiger!

The Most Efficient Way...

...To get Rice Krispie Treats off your hands is to use your mouth, says Willa.

Turn Those Frowns...

...upside down!

Pie in the Face!

Willa used some of her holiday gift money to buy a game called “Pie in the Face”, which allows her to legitimately smash whipped cream into her big brother’s face in the name of sports(wo)man-ship.

Bird Watchers

King of the Mountain...

Toppled but still smiling.

Courage ✅

Reed, Willa, their parents, Nanas and family friends went to see “The Wizard of Oz” at Syracuse Stage.  Both kids were enchanted by the performance and Reed was thrilled to get a chance to meet one of his favorite characters in person!

Winter Walk

Shortly after Christmas, Reed, Willa, their mom and Dad and Stella took a hike around the farm, trying out snowshoes and checking out the beehives.  Adventures right out our backdoor are just one of the perks of living at Stones Throw Farm!

You’ll Put Your Eye Out Kid

Reed got a BB gun for Christmas and is learning to shoot it (safely) with help from his dad!

The Magic of Christmas

Then, on the night before Christmas, comes a moment that lets us catch our breath and takes it away, too. The magic of the season is here and our kids are still full believers.

Crafts and Cocoa

Willa and her bestie, Olivia, had a quiet afternoon of cocoa and Christmas crafts one afternoon. They made 3 different ornaments each, sipped cocoa and listened to Christmas carols.  In the hustle and bustle of the season, sometimes a little quiet time with your best friend is just the best thing.

Gingerbread Housed

Reed made his holiday gingerbread house with his typical attention to detail and diligence.  Willa made hers with her typical attention to the piping bag full of icing.  Both kids created masterpieces that look as good as they taste!

Countdown to Christmas

The countdown to Christmas in the Luton house starts at the beginning of December.  Chocolate advent calendars, red and green links and the arrival of a tin of our favorite holiday cookies signal that Christmas is getting near!
