Summer Days...
...are the easiest and the longest when we go no further than our own home base. Water balloons, catching toads. Nothing better than lazy afternoons at home.

Pink Hair, Don't Care!
For a long time, Willa has been begging to get streaks of (temporary) color in her hair and on a recent Thursday afternoon, her wish finally came true! If anyone can rock this rock-star look, it's this kid!

Signature Pose
Reed and Willa have managed to develop their own special signature pose whenever asked to mug for the camera. This is it, with a photo taken from a recent adventure at Camillus Park. Funny faces, linked arms. Looking forward to a lifetime of these shots.
Life Lesson
After a late night with friends here at the farm when Jacob and Lilah arrived with sheets of temporary tattoos, Reed and Willa recognized an important life lesson. "Mom, all these tattoos seemed like a great idea last night when we were having fun and being silly. But today, I'm not really sure if it was such a good idea to tattoo myself everywhere." Think before you ink, Reed, just take a moment and think.

Take a Hike, Part 2
A few days after their Green Lakes Hike, Reed and his mom were able to explore the many miles of trails at Chittenango Falls State Park. Reed loves the falls there but was delighted to discover that the trails around the falls are only a smal part of the large trail network in the park. He crossed streams and dried beds, jumped across creeks, scrambled up and down rocks and created a cairn and dedicated it to a beloved friend of the farm who recently passed away. Reed has always spent lots of time looking down as he hikes and is very apt at finding "heart rocks". He spied a giant one at the park and saved it for the growing collection that he has bestowed on his mom💙

Take a Hike
Reed loves hiking and his mom loves hiking with Reed. This summer, after dropping Willa off at Jowonio, they've been able to explore many trails on the east side of Syracuse. On late July morning, they made the loops around Green Lake and Round Lake and Reed loved jogging from informational sign to informational sign and stopping to read and share what he learned.

Puppy School Graduate!
Brody, Mooba's 90 lbs. Golden Retriever, recently completed and passed his canine good citizenship classes and had his first "assignment". He visited Jowonio and worked with Willa's class. He showed off his tricks (barking on command quietly and loudly, shaking hands, rolling over) and happily allowed the students to pet him and feed him treats! At the end of the event, Brody was exhausted but smiley because he knew that he truly was a "good boy"!

Our Cowgirl
The Treehouse Room...
...visited Stones Throw Farm for our annual summer Jowonio field trip! The kids in Willa's class met the chickens, picked flowers, ate a farm fresh salad and pizza picnic lunch and "drove" the tractor! Willa and Reed have loved hosting their classrooms over the years here at the farm and it warms our hearts to see how proud of the farm they are and how much they love sharing it with their friends!
A Girl and her NoNo
Willa and NoNo, her lovey stuffed puppy, are inseparable. NoNo has literally gone everywhere with Willa since she fell in love with it as a baby. So it seems fitting that both share a similar interest in colorful eye protection and a spunky, sassy attitude!
