Splash!

Reed and Willa took their first dip of the season in Nana and Pa's pool over Memorial Day Weekend.  Air temperature of 72, water temperature of 67.  Brrrrrrr!!!

Make-Up Party!

One of Willa's favorite things to do is have a make-up party where she gets to do her own make-up and sometimes her mom's make-up, too.  Last week, she did only her make-up (mom was assistant and mirror-holder) and the had to have a photo taken with her favorite selfie-face. Of course.

Fit to Be Tied 2017

Reed, Willa and their parents helped to organize and execute the 2nd annual Fit to Be Tied in memory of Pa Beard.  We worked so hard to raise funds to support research on improved diagnosis and treatment options for people with Amyloidosis. We also had a fabulous time with lots of fun and fitness with our favorite people.

Spring Sports

Spring sports for Reed and Willa include soccer, lacrosse, hopscotch, hose limbo and dandelion blowing.

Kindergarten Oriented

On a recent Thursday morning, Willa and her parents went to Rockwell Elementary (Reed's school) for her kindergarten orientation.  She got to play in a classroom, go to the cafeteria for a snack and ride a school bus!  After the orientation, we took advantage of a sunny afternoon to go to the zoo for a short adventure with our best girl.

Mother's Day

On Mother's Day, we hosted a cookout for the Nanas and Pa. The afternoon was full of good food and good family times.

Morel Hunting

Reed and Willa and their parents try to get outside whenever possible and ideally we stay on our own 27 acres of heaven.  We were delighted to forage for morels (edible spring mushrooms) in some of our wooded property on a damp afternoon and have mushroom success!  Stella Blue went along for the adventure, too, of course.

Art Show Exhibition

Reed was so proud (as were we all) to have his work selected as one of 5 pieces from his entire school district to be displayed in the gallery at Baltimore Woods for their scholastic nature art show!  It's still on display for a bit longer and then it will come home to be put on our own gallery wall!

Tators and Tots 2017

Every year, Reed and Willa help with the annual potato planting on the farm and, as they get older and more independent (Reed rode the hopper all by himself this year), this yearly post is probably going to have to be renamed.  No tots around here anymore although we certainly have the beginnings of some terrific tators.

New Beginnings

It's springtime on the farm!
