Happy Birthday to Reed, Part 2

On September 26, 2008, a 4 pound little boy came into our lives a d changed us forever for the better.  He is the sweetest, strongest, silliest soul and we could not be prouder of him. Out of all the little and big boys in the whole wide world, we'd pick our Reed ever single time!

Happy Birthday to Reed, Part 1

Reed had a family birthday party last weekend just before his "real" birthday.  Nanas and Pa came down to our house to celebrate with pizza and wings and cheesecake (the menu of Reed's choosing). Reed was delighted with the company and also particularly delighted by a "Claw" machine that was filled with candy, a gift from Little Grandma and Aunt Kathy, and a telescope from Aunt Jen and Uncle Kevin! Reed still has more celebrating to do, so please stay tuned!

"This is Us...

...On our anniversary".  Those lines are from one of Reed and Willa's favorite songs and also seemed perfect for how we celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary with a family dinner out at a favorite restaurant. It was a night filled with giggles and goofiness and French Fries and fun. Which is exactly what we wanted!

Take A Hike

Reed, Willa, their parents and Stella took a recent hike in Labrador Hollow on a cloudy afternoon. Our Labrador took a swim in the pond and was so pleased she wagged the entire time she swam.  We then worked our way over the trail and through the woods, soaking in the last green of summer; the colors of fall are right around the corner.  Reed, ever the pirate, was thrilled to discover an "X-Marks-the-Spot" rock, too, along with a beautiful Swallowtail larva creeping along a branch.

Back to the Orchard

Reed and Willa returned again to Beak and Skiff with their parents and Moo-Ba recently to enjoy a treat for a successful start to the school year!  Willa spent more time riding Misty, of course, and Reed chose a blue candy apple, which he happily devoured!  We also played on the playground and met a couple sweet bunnies and fed a pony!  We are so lucky to live so close to such a fun place!

We Wish For a Fish...

...Or quite a few as Reed and Willa and their parents spend some time fishing on the Causeway at Otisco Lake!

First Day of Treehouse Room

A few days after her big brother started school, Willa started her 3rd and final year in Jowonio as a student in the Treehouse Room, the same place that Reed spent his last year at Jowonio. Willa loves her new class and is thrilled to be reunited with old friends as well as make some new ones!

First Day of Second Grade

Reed started second grade as a student in Mrs. Laszlo's room at Rockwell Elementary.  He loves his new class and new teacher and was particularly delighted that on the first day, he and his classmate got to go out the emergency escape window to the courtyard where they tended the class garden.  It's sure to be a great year!

Best Big Brother Ever!

An Apple a Day...

...Is easy to accomplish when we kicked off the fall season a few weeks ago with our first of many trips to Beak and Skiff.  Willa was particularly delighted to spend time riding Misty, her favorite pony in the world.
