Water Safari Surprise
Last week, Reed and Willa delighted to wake up to the news that they were going on a surprise, spontaneous day trip to Enchanted Forest Water Safari. There are very few photos from the day (water, cameras and phones don't mix well) but lots of amazing memories.
Our Little Gymnast
Willa recently started gymnastics at West Side Gymnastic Studio. She had previously taken tumbling at a local dance studio and is now thrilled to have access to bars, rings, trampolines, excellent instructions and the world's most colorful and sparkliest unitard, picked out by Willa herself, of course.
The Sweetest Smile
Both Reed and Willa have been enchanted with a popular piano ballad called "Lost Boy" this summer. It's a story about a character in Peter Pan, one of their favorite stories. There's a line in the lyrics referring to Peter Pan: "He came to me with the sweetest smile, told me he wanted to talk for a while...". That line always will make me think of this boy, with his sweetest smile and love of conversation.
Spontaneous Beach Day
After a visit with Little Grandma up in Oswego, Reed, Willa and their parents took a trip to the Stands for lunch and ended up playing on the shores of Lake Ontario for a long time. They found rocks, including a wishing stone with a hole straight through it, splashed in the water (no bathing suit, no problem) and enjoyed the breeze on the beach. After a delicious lunch at Rudy's, they stopped at the locks on the river on the way home because Reed was curious about them. It was one of those days where the only things fuller than everyone's bellies were their hearts.
So Berry Much Love
On a recent jaunt up to Navarino Orchards, there weren't too many ripe raspberries but there sure were lots of giggles, mugs and hugs!
Field Tripping 2016
Reed and Willa recently hosted the annual Jowonio field trip to Stones Throw Farm and, for the first time, it was Willa's Koala class that came for the visit. Reed happily stepped up to Junior Farmer role and helped his dad lead the tour. Willa happily palled around with her best friend,Olivia, and Reed had a friend from his first grade class join the group who also was a Jowonio alum! Even though the kids eventually become too old for Jowonio, they never outgrow the friendships!
Diving In....
....in the form of surface diving, just one of the new tricks Reed learned in swimming lessons. Both Willa and Reed love the water and are both improving their swimming skills daily.
Playgrounding 2016
These two kids love playgrounds and almost never turn down an opportunity for a swing and a slide. Or two or three. A recent stop at King Park yielded all smiles in the sunshine!
