Uncle Kev Comes to Town

Uncle Kev came for a visit lady weekend and Reed and Willa were so happy to introduce him to Stella Blue, share some delicious food (the first tomatoes!) and catch up. While we did not catch Aunt Jenny this time, we hope to see them again in August! 

Treehouse Room Field Trip

Reed's class, the Treehouse Room at Jowonio, took a field trip to our farm last week.  In between rain showers, we took a walk around the farm and fields on a scavenger hunt for "farm vocabulary", learned about compost and irrigation, picked peas, made a farm-fresh salad to go with our pizza picnic, and "drove" the tractors.  Jowonio has been such a special place to this family for the past three years and will continue to be for the  next three years; we are so happy to be able to share a bit of our home with our children's home-away-from-home.

Make New Friends...

...And keep the old.  One is silver and the other's gold.

Last night, Reed and Willa got to have dinner and play with their dear old friends, Aniela and Wyatt, as well as meet sweet baby Mason for the first time.  Sand, snacks, sun, and snuggles made for a good time for all!

Summertime!

*** This post was written about our adventures on the first day of summer.  However, it did not get posted until today.  

It has finally arrived and after a very long fall, winter and spring, it is time for some sunshine! We celebrated summer's arrival on the afternoon of the solstice by taking a little hike with Stella Blue in Labrador Hollow and helping her to take her first swim in Labrador Pond.  While she was not sure, initially, about the water, Stella did want to stay with her family and was happy to wade out and swim around with her "pack". The whole family then headed to get ice cream in Tully.  Certainly, a fun start to what is sure to be a very fun summer season!
