Eggs-Cellent Afternoon

We spent a recent warm afternoon playing egg-hunt games in preparation for Easter.  Reed and Willa took turns hiding eggs filled with their treasures and searching for them around the farm.  We think that with this degree of practice, the eggs hidden by the Easter Bunny on Easter morning will stand no chance of remaining hidden!

Jowonio Art Show

Last weekend, we went to the annual Jowonio Art Show.  The focus of this year's show was on the process of making art and we were so proud both to see the display that described Reed's process and the finished product, a tree! We then took advantage of the beautiful spring afternoon to take a hike on Sarah's Path (Jowonio hiking trail) and to play in the new treehouse.  This will be Reed's last art show as a Jowonio student but our family will have three more annual art shows in our future.  Willa will be carrying the torch as a Jowonio student beginning in the fall!

Maple Syrup Sweet

*** post written a few weeks ago but unpublished until now *****

This past weekend, our family went on our annual spring trip to Cedarvale Maple Syrup Company for their Maple Weekend events.  Despite the snow on the ground, Reed and Willa hiked the trails to see the sap lines, learned about the boiling process in the sugar shack, and tasted maple cream on biscuits, a sweet taste of spring things to come.
