Jowonio Follies

Reed participated in his third performance as part of the Jowonio Follies.  This year his class made tee-shirts showing happiness; Reed made a happy Lightening McQueen race car painting on his shirt.  The class then sang and danced to the very popular "Happy Song".  This will be Reed's last Follies as a Jowonio student.  Next year our kindergartener will be sitting in the audience cheering on his little sister on stage!

Spring Arrived...

...For at least one afternoon last week.  Reed and Willa enjoyed it in the sandbox, wagon, and by being entertained by Kitty's playful climbing antics.

The Bunny Hill and the Big One

Reed and Willa and their parents along with their good friends Lilah and Jacob and their parents spent a late winter Saturday at Labrador Mountain, where Reed and Willa's daddy is on the National Ski Patrol.  Both kids spent time on the bunny hill and Willa loved her first  time on skis and Reed learned to make turns and really start to ski a little independently. Reed even took a ride up the chairlift and a run down the "big one".  Our photos from the day were limited because, as one can imagine, our hands were a little full. The exciting day was capped off with dinner together at "The Last Run", Labrador's on-hill restaurant.  While these may have been our last runs of the season, we are already looking forward to skiing together next year.

Wing Walking and Winterfest

**This post was from a few weeks ago but I just noticed it was not posted yet.  So here it is....

Sunday was our last day of our winter vacation and we decided to enjoy the 45 degree weather by heading downtown to  participate in the Syracuse Winterfest Wing Walk.  We walked or rode in the stroller from restaurant to restaurant sampling chicken wings (Reed and Willa's parents also sampled the entrants in the Winterfest Bloody Mary mix-off at the same locales).  The kids love wings and being out and about in the city, seeing the tall buildings and many people.  Reed even got to try his hand at darts as we waited in line for wings in one restaurant. The day ended with balloon animals and full bellies, then it was back home to get ready to go back to school the next morning.

Opening Day...

...of the greenhouse.  A few days ago, in 45 degree weather, Reed and Willa helped with opening chores in the greenhouse; they assisted with reattaching the instillation on the doors and stirring the potting mix.  All with protective eyewear, of course, because safety comes first here at Stones Throw Farm.

Walking on (Frozen) Water

Reed, Willa and their parents spent a sunny Sunday on Otisco Lake ice-fishing.  While we had no bites and came home fish-less, we certainly soaked up our share of Vitamin D and made some great memories.
