Snow Day!

Merry Christmas Morning...

...and Santa came to the Luton house! Reed and Willa were both very generous in their gifting (notice the gorgeous rocks Reed painted for his mommy and the ducks that were a family gift to Willa) and grateful for the wonderful treasures that were under the tree on Christmas morning. Instead of taking lots of photos of the special day, we chose to make lots of memories. Here are the few photos we took of the day...

...Despite the flu, which has hit Reed and Willa and their dad in the past week. We all got the vaccination and, according to the pediatrician, we were spared the worst of it because of the shot. Reed is feeling a lot better now and has returned to school and Willa and Daddy are working through the illness. At least we will be healthy for Christmas, right?!

Oh Christmas Tree 2012

Our family tradition of cutting our tree at Goodman's Tree Farm continued this year and Willa assisted her father, mother and brother in selecting our perfect Christmas tree! Reed proudly helped with the sawing of the tree and also became more adept at identifying the specific type of evergreen that we look for when choosing a tree (a balsam fir). It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas here...now we just need some snow!

All Aboard the Santa Express!

Yesterday, Reed and Willa and their parents took a ride on the Santa Express, a special train ride on the Finger Lakes Scenic Railway. We left the station in Geneva and enjoyed riding the rails as we watched the farmland zoom by outside the train. Inside the train, we enjoyed hot chocolate and sang carols. Reed happily met with Santa and his team and shared both his and Willa's wish lists. Fortunately Reed has been a little more nice than naughty this year and we are sure that Santa will be visiting our home later this month!
